Vegetable soybeans love Ohio summers. One 10-ft row is a serious freezer crop.

How to grow it

Sow 1 in. deep in warm soil. Inoculant helps if the bed has not grown soy. Harvest when pods are bright green and beans just fill them—too late and they turn starchy. Steam in the pod. Beer Friend and Midori Giant finish well here.
